There are a lot of things that make feel better when I am struggling or having a bad day.
talks with friends who really get me
the gospel
listening to music
going on drives
going on walks
writing, whether it be paragraphs in my journal or lists in my planner
zumba
doing laundry (weird, huh?)
organizing
reading
I feel like this list is pretty applicable to me right now, since some things aren't going so well. This weekend, I was able to meet up with an old CEU buddy. We talked about everything; I just love friends that you can go awhile without seeing and then you pick up right where you left off the last time. I told her my struggles with family, friends and work. She gave me some new perspective on the whole friends thing and I am so grateful for that. I'm glad we've been able to hang out more lately :) She helped me to remember that friendship is a two-way street. As hard as it is to admit, some people won't stay in your life like you want them to. Friendship takes work, from more than one person. I think I need some new friends and that thought makes me really quite sad!
