funny story

Tonight we were sitting at dinner and I mentioned that a roommate of mine from last semester and her boyfriend had recently gotten engaged {she knows the boy's mom from her hometown, that's how she related to this all} and naturally conversation headed towards engagements and such. My little brother started to ask her about how her my dad proposed to her and he (my brother) asked her if he (my dad) did it while they were fishing, because of of his friend's dads popped the question with the ring on the line instead of bait. My mom told him to ask my dad how he asked her. Then the conversation went like this: (I do this so I don't have to bother with quotation marks)

Ash: Bryce, were you and your friends talking about how your friends' parents got engaged, is that how you know about that fishing story?
Bryce: Yep
A: And you didn't know the story of how mom and dad got engaged, so you couldn't participate?
B: Uh-huh.
A: So just make something up, make it an interesting story.
B: K, I got it! I will say they were at Disneyland and they were on the Tower of Terror, and dad dropped the ring into mom's lap!

I just have to say that this was quite a hilarious remark! Me and my mom had a good laugh over it. It may be something that you had to be there to think was really funny, but it goes to show that kids really do say the darndest things and have great imaginations. Let's go back to having kids' imaginations for a minute! What fun things do you guys remember thinking up when you were kids? The more far-fetched and out there, the better!
